Veramin: A town 30 miles southeast of Tehran known for fine rugs depicting the Mina Khani and Memling guls designs. Rugs are woven on a cotton foundation and the asymmetric knot is used.
Pile: wool yarn of good quality
Weft: cotton yarn, 2 wefts between the rows of knots
Warp: cotton yarn
Knot density: 200 000 – 250 000 knots per square meter.
The colours of the rug look different depending on the angle from which you look at it.
