Length: 147cmHamadan produces beautiful tribal hand-woven rugs made in the city and the areas surrounding Hamadan in the west of Iran. Hamadan rugs are quite durably constructed due to the rugged wool spun from hardy sheep in the higher, cooler altitudes. The patterns vary in rugs from this city from geometric, to small animal and floral elements and sometimes the famous Herati and Boteh designs. This is beautiful Hamadan Rug with medallion Design in a rust and blue colour combination. Medium pile, circa 1930.
