Country of origin: Persia
Gabbeh: A Lori word to describe fairly coarse and thick, long-piled rugs made by nomads of the central Zagros Mountains for use in the tent. They are decorated with bold abstract patters or nave designs and used to be considered too crude to be worth trading but recently their artistic value has been recognized.
The colours of the rug look different depending on the angle from which you look at it.
