Karaja rugs woven in north west Persia showing Coucasian influence.
Hand made on a loom with pure wool and natural dyes in and around the village of that name in the Azarbadjian province of north west Persia.
The proximity of the Caucasus has had a strong influence, and can be clearly seen in Karadja designs.
Because of their durability and reasonable price, the Karadja rugs are fair investments.
The growing scarcity of authentic Persian village and tribal rugs may lead to Karadja rugs becoming more collectable in the future.

Belouch are inexpensive, well made rugs, produced in a wide variety of designs, that consistently combine tribal authenticity with a delightful, if somewhat primitive decorative charm. The Belouch are a large tribal grouping who roam the vast border region between eastern Persia and western Afghanistan.
A good Belouch is arguably the best buy amongst all contemporary nomadic rugs.
